A simple yet moving letter, touched President Obama so much that he chose to share and tell everyone about it. The letter written by the little boy mentioned that his sister Catherine will “be collecting butterflies and fireflies for him”, and the the little boy Alex will teach Omran “addition and subtraction”. Alex further said, that he and his sister Catherine would think of him as “their brother.”
President Obama was touched by the humanity and generous nature of the little boy that he decided to meet Alex, his sister Catherine and their parents at the White House. President Obama also uploaded a video where Alex had read his letter aloud and also shared it at the U.N., Leaders Summit on Refugees and Migrants in New York. Mr Obama said, “The boy teaches us a lot about the humanity that the young child can display who hasn’t learnt to be cynical, or suspicious, or fearful of other people.”
Dressed in a suit which was made especially for the meeting, Alex looked extremely handsome. The video of President Obama greeting Alex said, “I liked what you wrote so much that I ended up reading it to everybody. You being so nice, and kind, hopefully, makes other people think the same way. So I was very proud of you.”
