Florida: A gunman identified as Omar Saddiqui Mateen killed at least 50 and injured 53 others in a gay nightclub in Florida early on Sunday before police shot him dead. According to the US police, Islamist terrorist group is responsible for the shooting in Orlando and described it as a “terrorism incident.”

Additionally, Republican US Representative Peter King of Homeland Security Committee has said that Mateen was Afghani and had weapons training.
“The armed attack that targeted a gay night club in the city of Orlando in the American state of Florida which left over 100 people dead or injured was carried out by an ISIS fighter,” a news agency said.
US official said that they dint have any immediate proofs about Mateen having connection with ISIS, but the investigation is on. “We know enough to say this was an act of terror, an act of hate,” Obama said in a speech from the White House. “And as Americans, we are united in grief, in outrage and in resolve to defend our people.”
