Princess Charlotte is christened

London: The little princess Charlotte was christened in the church at St. Mary Magdalene in Sandringham, Norfolk. The ceremony was a low key affair. The newest member of the royal family was seen in a cream-coloured christening gown. She arrived in a royal pram pushed by her mother, Kate.

The royal couple made her public outing with their children as a family of four for the first time. Prince George was seen in a white and red outfit. He also delighted the royal well-wishers on foot.

The ceremony was overseen by Justin Welby, the archbishop of Canterbury. The water used was came from the River Jordan and the lily baptismal font, which was brought up from the Tower of London.

Ahead of the christening ceremony, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced that they had chosen five godparents for Charlotte. The guests included grandparents and great grandparents of Charlotte. Her aunt and uncle on the Middleton side were also seen. However, Prince Harry failed to attend the ceremony as he is busy in Africa.
