Sushmita Sen, the former Miss Universe and Bollywood actress is all set be a member of the judging panel of the 65th Miss Universe edition of the pageant that will be held in the Philippines. Miss Sen was the first Indian to win the Miss Universe Crown in 1994.
For this year, India will be represented by Roshmitha Hari Murthy that will be held on January 30 in Manila at the Mall of Asia Arena. Sushmita posted on her Instagram account to express her elation for being one of the judges. The model turned actress won the Award in Manila in 1994, and looked excited to return to the venue 23 years later.
The 41 year old actress posted, “Getting ready with a dancing heart! I am so excited, emotional and looking forward to returning home to the #Philippines after #23years… it’s where it all began #manila1994 #missuniverse1994.” She also added, “Life comes a full circle, from winning Miss Universe, to having owned its Indian Franchise to now returning back to #Manila this time as a judge at the 65th Miss Universe pageant!!”.
Addressing her Philippine friends, she stated, To all my #filipino friends who have been graciously asking…I can now confirm…yes! I am coming! Mahal Kita Philippines see you sooooooon.”
The actress has time and again voiced her opinion about women empowerment. She also set an example, that a woman does not need a man to survive in the society. She is a single mother with two adopted daughters with whom she lives.
