In the latest development of the Afghanistan-Taliban matter, the Taliban entered the Presidential Palace, after the Afghanistan Government collapsed.

On the 15th of August, the Taliban took over Kabul, leaving thousands of people homeless and without mercy. On the 15th of August, Taliban forces entered Kabul from all sides, taking over the government, demanding transfer of power from Afghanistan to Taliban.

However, the Taliban security forces said they would not enter the Capital city by force and asked the President of Afghanistan to transfer power peacefully. Considering the current situation in Kabul, the President of Afghanistan Mr. Ashraf Ghani fled from the nation and his whereabouts are confidential.

A senior official of the Afghanistan Government, who wished to be anonymous said, “Cannot say anything about Ashraf Ghani’s movement for security reasons.”

Meanwhile, India’s security establishment was taken by surprise at the rapid pace with which the Taliban has taken over control of Afghanistan.

On the condition of anonymity, a senior official said, “We were surprised at the rapid gains made by the Taliban.” In addition, the Indian security in Afghanistan said India would operate more flights to Kabul and would bring back stranded citizens of India in Afghanistan.

The Indian Government source further added, “We are monitoring the situation closely and will take all necessary steps to evacuate our nationals stranded in Afghanistan.”

The major reason behind the sudden attack of the Taliban Government and the Taliban security is power. The Taliban want to hold power and authority in Afghanistan and asked Mr. Ashraf Ghani to transfer power peacefully. However, the current Afghanistan President declined their demands and said, the power would be transferred only after a detailed agreement and knowing the successor who would be in power in Afghanistan.

Due to the disagreement, the Taliban decided to enter Kabul. Now, the First Vice President of Afghanistan Mr. Amrullah Saleh said, “I will never, ever and under no circumstances bow to d Talib terrorists. I will never betray d soul and legacy of my hero Ahmad Shah Masoud, the commander, the legend and the guide. I won’t disappoint millions who listened to me. I will never be under one ceiling with the Taliban. NEVER.”

Meanwhile, the Taliban army is at the Afghanistan Presidential Palace and shooting was also reported at the Kabul Airport. With this ongoing situation, people fear a strict and brutal rule of the Taliban, diminishing women’s rights and imposing other rules after the Taliban form a government in Kabul.

Meanwhile, several nations are trying to bring back their stranded citizens from Afghanistan including India.

The last flight to rescue Indians from Kabul left from Delhi, on the night of the 15th of August. If needed, the Indian administration would continue the flight operation to Afghanistan.
