The senior Islamic State operative Omar al-Shishani, who was injured in a US air strike last week in Syria, has passed away, reportedly.
Shishani, famous as Omar the Chechen, who is also known to the group’s as “minister of war,” wounded near the town of al-Shadadi in Syria, according to the sources.
After being injured, Shishani was moved to Islamic State’s base of operations in Raqqa for treatment, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said last week.
