Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has taken the Kotavuratla incident in Anakapalli district seriously, with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu ordering a thorough investigation. The Chief Minister emphasized that those responsible for the tragic deaths of the students will be held accountable and arrested. He also directed the immediate closure of the unauthorized hostel where the incident occurred.
The government has pledged to take full responsibility for the affected children, including covering all medical expenses for those who fell ill.
The incident occurred two days ago in the Kotavuratla mandal of Anakapalli district, where 27 students became ill after consuming samosas at an unauthorized hostel in town. Tragically, three of the students—Joshua, Bhavani, and Shraddha—passed away on Monday. The remaining 24 students are currently receiving treatment at Visakhapatnam KGH Hospital, as well as in Narsipatnam and Anakapalli area hospitals.
