Bapulapadu: Ashok Leyland’s new manufacturing plant at Mallavalli Industrial Estate, Bapulapadu Mandal, Krishna District, was inaugurated by Minister Nara Lokesh in a grand event attended by Ministers TG Bharat, Kollu Ravindra, and Gannavaram MLA Yarlagadda Venkatarao. Senior representatives from Ashok Leyland were also present at the ceremony.
During the event, Minister Lokesh inspected the latest bus models manufactured at the facility and planted saplings on the plant’s premises, highlighting the government’s commitment to industrial growth and environmental sustainability.
The state-of-the-art facility, spread across 75 acres, is expected to generate 600 jobs in its first phase and expand to 1,200 jobs in the second phase, significantly contributing to employment opportunities in the region.
Ashok Leyland, a key subsidiary of the Hinduja Group, is the fourth-largest bus manufacturer globally. The new plant aims to enhance commercial vehicle production, supporting the state’s industrial expansion plans.
