Amaravati: The returning officers have greenlit the nominations of candidates from Gudivada and Done YSRCP constituencies in Krishna District. However, former minister Kodali Nani’s nomination sparked controversy, with TDP leaders alleging misinformation in his papers. They claimed the use of a municipal office as a camp office, countered by documents proving it was rented.

Nani faced potential rejection for alleged false information, leaving YSRCP leaders in suspense until evening. Ultimately, the Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) announced acceptance, bringing relief.

Meanwhile, objections arose over the election affidavit of Don YSRCP candidate Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, filed by TDP’s Kotla Suryaprakashoddy. Allegations of incomplete asset disclosure and unfilled columns led to pending approval. The nomination was eventually cleared in the evening after initial confusion.

This development underscores the intricacies and tensions characterizing the nomination process, shaping the electoral landscape in Amaravati and beyond.
