Hyderabad: MLC Jeevan Reddy, expressing deep dissatisfaction with recent developments in the Congress party, has made a significant decision to resign from his post. Announcing his resignation, Reddy clarified that he has no plans to switch parties and has not received any offers from other parties. He emphasized that key decisions within the Congress were made without his involvement.
Reddy stated that he will consult with his constituents and make a decision based on public opinion at the grassroots level. His resignation comes in the wake of MLA M. Sanjay Kumar of Jagityala joining the Congress in the presence of CM Revanth Reddy, a move that deeply hurt Reddy.
In an attempt to address his grievances, senior Congress leaders Bhatti Vikramarka and Sridhar Babu held discussions with Reddy at his residence in Begumpet. Despite their efforts to reconcile the situation, Reddy’s decision to step down underscores the internal discord within the party.
This development is significant as it highlights the growing tensions within the Congress and the challenges faced by the party leadership in maintaining unity among its ranks.
