
Anakapalli: In a major crackdown, police in Anakapalli district seized 912 kg of ganja being transported from Odisha to Andhra Pradesh. The contraband, valued at approximately Rs 45 lakh, was discovered hidden in a lorry. Two suspects were arrested at the scene, while District SP Deepika revealed that five more individuals are yet to be apprehended in connection with the case.
In a separate operation, police in Vijayawada seized over 200 kg of ganja, according to DCP Harikrishna. The ongoing crackdown has led to the detention of 120 individuals involved in the sale of ganja, with 35 cases registered so far. Authorities have identified 150 areas where drug use is prevalent and have intensified surveillance in these regions. DCP Harikrishna emphasized that special programs are being conducted to raise public awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.
