Rahul Gandhi, the former President of the Indian National Congress (INC,) on the 10th of July, will visit Amethi, Uttar Pradesh (UP.)
Gandhi’s visit to Amethi is his first one after losing this year’s Lok Sabha elections from the Parliamentary Constituency.
Rahul Gandhi contested from Amethi as the Member of Parliament (MP) candidate against Smriti Irani, the MP candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
Smriti Irani, a Union Minister of India, won the Amethi seat with a majority of 52,000 votes, defeating Rahul Gandhi, who served as the MP of Amethi from 2004 to 2019. As of now, Rahul Gandhi is the MP of Wayanad, Kerala.
Anil Singh, the Spokesperson of the INC in Amethi, said, Mr. Gandhi is scheduled to meet the booth Presidents of all the 5 Assembly segments of Amethi, which are Salon, Amethi, Gauriganj, Jagdishpur and Tiloi.
Mr. Gandhi is also scheduled to meet Chandrakant Dubey, the representative of the INC in Amethi and Yogendra Mishra, the District President of the INC. Later, Rahul Gandhi is also likely to tour some villages in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh.
