Rahul Gandhi, the former President of the Indian National Congress (INC,) on the 3rd of July, expressed his concern regarding the search for the new President of the INC.

Rahul Gandhi, who is adamant about his decision of quitting as the President of the Party, addressed the media and said, “Party should decide on the new president quickly without further delay, I am nowhere in this process. I have already submitted my resignation and I am no longer the party president. CWC should convene a meeting at the earliest and decide (who to appoint as Congress president.)”

Rahul Gandhi also insisted the next President should not belong to the Nehru–Gandhi family.

Since the 25th of June, when Rahul Gandhi submitted his resignation, the INC and its leaders have been trying to convince Mr. Gandhi to continue as the President of the INC.

While most of the leaders believe Rahul Gandhi is the perfect candidate for the President’s post, Rahul Gandhi, taking responsibility for the INC’s defeat, denied taking the position.

The confusion finally ended with the final confirmation of Rahul Gandhi, who now requested the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to take the matter seriously and appoint a new President immediately.

Many INC leaders across India, supporting Rahul Gandhi, took the responsibility for the INC’s defeat in the Lok Sabha elections and submitted their resignation from their respective posts.

Although the INC leaders bravely took the responsibility and resigned, the INC could face a major drawback in the Lok Sabha due to the decreasing number of members.

As of now, approximately 150 plus INC leaders quit the Party.

With only 52 Members of Parliament in the Lok Sabha, the INC needs to chalk down a strategy and appoint a new [resident as soon as possible to stay strong against the Bharatiya Janata Party.
