Batting at 43 off 29 deliveries, Rohit aimed to accelerate his innings as he approached his half-century. However, the Tamil Nadu-based spinner claimed the crucial wicket of the Indian skipper.
Kishore utilized the available turn, pitching the ball slightly shorter than Rohit anticipated, causing him to miss the sweep shot. Consequently, the ball struck his pads, leading to his fall.
Subsequently, Mohit Sharma also dismissed MI’s impactful substitute, Dewald Brewis, denying him a half-century and tilting the momentum in GT’s favor. The Titans clinched victory following a remarkable final over by veteran Umesh Yadav, securing a six-run win to kick off their campaign triumphantly.
