Hyderabad: In a significant move, the Telangana government has decided to facilitate the registration of plots pending for the past four years under the Layout Regularization Scheme (LRS). As part of the initiative, a 25% concession on LRS fees has been announced for those completing registrations by March 31.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, along with Ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Sridhar Babu, and Chief Secretary Shantikumari, reviewed the LRS implementation progress and directed officials to expedite pending applications.
Previously, registrations of unauthorized layouts were banned, preventing many buyers from completing ownership transfers. With the latest decision, both individual plot owners and layout developers can now regularize and register their plots. Even layouts where only 10% of the plots were previously registered can now proceed with the remaining 90% registrations under the Special Registration Scheme (SRS).
The government has instructed officials to ensure seamless registration by allowing direct payment of regularization fees at Sub-Registrar offices, eliminating unnecessary delays. Ministers urged the public to utilize this opportunity, emphasizing that the scheme aims to benefit lower-income groups who have been waiting for plot approvals.
