Sunil Lanba, the Chief of the Navy Staff Admiral, on the 5th of March, reported, India might face naval attacks from terrorists, as they are being trained for the same.

Mr. Lanba, during the Indo Pacific regional dialogue event, said, there are “reports of terrorists being trained to carry out attacks with varying modus operandi, including through the medium of the sea.”

The Indo Pacific regional dialogue event was organised by the Indian Navy and the National Maritime Foundation. The event was organised to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the maritime sector for the growth and development of the Country.

During the event, Mr. Lanba also discussed the strategies to eliminate global terrorism.

Lanba further said, “We have seen how quickly terror groups evolve across the globe. A particular brand of terror can well become a global problem in near future.”

According to the reports presented by the Navy Chief, India might face State sponsored terrorism, which may harm the Country, especially after the Pulwama terror attack and the airstrikes, on the 14th of February and 27th of February, respectively.

In the wake of the Pulwama terror attack, the Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted airstrikes and dropped bombs on 3 Jaish e Mohammed (JeM) terrorist camps in Balakot. The IAF killed approximately 300 JeM terrorists residing at the camps.

Later, on the 27th of February, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) also launched airstrikes in Jammu and Kashmir.

Lanba claimed, the terrorists are being trained for more such attacks and it can be said, the Pakistan Government is helping them do so, due to the current tense situation between India and Pakistan.

However, without mentioning any names, Lanba said, the terrorist attack which was planned by the extremists, was supported and encouraged by the nations who want to destabilise India.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Navy claimed they found an Indian submarine trying to trespass their territory and was successful in the same.

The Indian Security Establishment is working continuously to combat the threat of terrorism in India.

Stay tuned for further updates.
