Jonnagiri: The ‘Memanta Sidham’ bus trip led by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy continued amidst a blockade by villagers in Jonnagiri, Tuggali mandal, Kurnool district. Residents halted the bus to highlight their drinking water crisis, expressing frustration over the lack of leadership in addressing the issue.

Police intervened after receiving reports of women with empty bins prepared to stop Jagan. Despite confiscating the bins, some women persisted in blocking the CM’s vehicle. Female leader Sridevi attempted to defuse the situation, but Jagan disembarked from the bus amid tension.

Heavy security presence prompted some women to disperse, pledging to resolve the matter through dialogue. However, villagers lamented the absence of a clear assurance from CM Jagan regarding their water woes, signaling ongoing discontent despite the protest’s conclusion.
