
Madanapalle: The CID’s investigation into the burning of records at the Madanapalle Sub Collectorate in Annamayya district has intensified, with a series of late-night inspections conducted at the office from 11 PM on Monday until 3 AM on Tuesday. The investigation is being led by CID Chief Ravi Shankar Ayyannar, with key participation from Annamayya District SP Vidyasagar Naidu, Additional SP Rajkamal, and DSP Venugopal.
The investigative team meticulously reconstructed the scene of the incident to better understand the circumstances surrounding the burning of the crucial documents. Senior Assistant Gautam Tej, who is currently in police custody, was subjected to thorough questioning. Investigators focused on his role in the incident, particularly probing the presence of oil cans at the scene.
In addition to Gautam Tej, the team also interrogated Nimmanapalle VRA Ramanaiah, who witnessed the event, and RDO Hariprasad, who was present in the office prior to the incident. These key witnesses were summoned to the Sub Collectorate for further questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
The CID is expected to continue its rigorous inquiry, with all angles being explored to determine the exact cause and responsibility for the destruction of the records.
