In Uttar Pradesh, the Shiv Sena leader of Uddhav Thackeray’s saction has threatened to “cut off the tongue” of the All India Majlis e Ittehadul (AIMIM) leader.
On the 17th of October, Mr. Anil Singh, the President of the Shiv Sena unit in Uttar Pradesh, in a controversial statement against Mr. Shaukat Ali, the AIMIM President in U.P., and said, “It is because of people like him that even nationalist Muslims are viewed with suspicion,
Mr. Anil Singh also referred to AIMIM leader Mr. Shaukat Ali as “PFI (popular front of India) agent” and warned if Mr. Shaukat Ali would not mind his language, his tongue would be cut off.
The controversial statement of Mr. Anil Singh came after Mr. Shaukat Ali in a public meeting said, “Sometimes, they say you (Muslims) have many children and marry twice or thrice… Yes, when we marry twice, we give equal respect to both the wives, but you (Hindus) marry one woman and keep three mistresses that no one knows about.”
Reacting to the statement of Mr. Shaukat Ali, the Shiv Sena leader Mr. Anil Singh said, AIMIM State President Shaukat Ali has crossed all the limits.
Besides, Mr. Anil Singh, the Shiv Sena secretary Mr. Vishwajeet Singh also commented and said, “Everyone has the right to air his opinion but this did not mean that he is free to target a community. The AIMIM is the B team of BJP and is working to spread hatred and anarchy in the country. The AIMIM should stop instigating Hindus like this. The silence of the BJP is intriguing too.”
Meanwhile, a case has been registered against Mr. Shaukat Ali for his speech, alleging him of disturbing communal harmony. However, Mr. Shaukat Ali has not been arrested yet.
In addition, the Shiv Sena unit in Uttar Pradesh said, they would call for a protest if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruled State Police doesn’t arrest Mr. Shaukat Ali within one week.
