The front runner for Chief Minister’s race in Uttar Pradesh and also the party president, Keshav Prasad Maurya has been admitted to hospital on Thursday. The minister was admitted to the Ram Manohar Lohiya Hospital in New Delhi after he complained of chest pain and low blood pressure. Based on reports the Minister is currently under observation and will be discharged on Friday.
Today, Thursday morning the Minister slammed Mayawati the leader of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP.) Mayawati has after the elections said that the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) were tampered with and that they diverted votes to the BJP. The Minister took a dig at this comment. Addressing the media Keshav Prasad said, “I don’t care if Mayawati goes to court, but before that, she should visit a hospital to get herself treated well, she needs a break.”
Keshav Prasad has played a very important role in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections and led the party to success. He was also the front runner for the position of Chief Minister of the State. The winning BJP party’s Parliamentary Board met on Thursday to decide on the topic of who will be the next CM of UP. But with Keshav Prasad in ICU, the meeting did not come to any conclusion on this matter and it was announced that the CM candidate will be declared sometime in the next week.
