Hyderabad: Rash driving of the DCM van led cause for the death of a teenager at AS Rao Nagar.
A 18-year-old who was riding two wheeler died in a hit-and-run case involving a DCM van near AS Rao Nagar on Monday.
The victim Ch Ravi Kiran was from Vivekanandapuram in Neredmet.
At 7 am, Kiran was travelling on his scooter from Vivekanandapuram towards ECIL. “As he was nearing Sai Sudheer PG College, a speeding DCM van hit Kiran’s scooter. Kiran suffered bleeding injuries at multiple places on his body and died on the spot. The offender did not stop the van and fled away,” Kushaiguda inspector N Venkata Ramana said.
A case was registered against the culprit under section 304-A (causing death by rash or negligent act) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the body was shifted for post-mortem examination.
The police is trying to trace the DCM van number place by the cctv footage.
