A massive fire broke out at a small manufacturing unit at New Autonagar in Vijayawada. The fire started at an air cooler manufacturing unit and quickly spread along a 100 feet road.
Thick smoke billowed the sky triggering panic among the locals. The fire department received a complaint at 11:30 A.M., regarding the fire. A total of 12 fire tenders were sent from Krishna and Guntur districts.
The fire department confirmed there were no casualties but the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. The authorities immediately evacuated residents and industries in the nearby areas as a precautionary measure.
Andhra Pradesh Fire Director General K. Satyanarayana, Joint Commissioner of Police Kanti Rana Tata and District Collector B. Lakshmikantham are supervising the operation.
