The JanaSena Party formulated a seat sharing plan with its alliance parties for the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh.

On the 17th of March, Pawan Kalyan, the President of the JanaSena Party, held a meeting with the party leaders of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP,) the Communist Party of India (CPI) and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CP[M].)

During the meeting, Pawan Kalyan decided to give 21 Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) seats and 3 Member of Parliament (MP) seats to the BSP.

On the other hand, the CPI and the CPI (M) will contest a total of 7 Assembly seats and 2 Lok Sabha seats each.

The JanaSena Party will contest a total of 140 and 18 seats in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha elections respectively.

Veer Singh, a senior leader of the BSP and a Rajya Sabha member in Andhra Pradesh, hoped for the success of the grand alliance of the BSP, the CPI and the CPI (M.)

Pawan Kalyan announced the seat sharing mathematics during a press conference, on the 17th of March, in Vijayawada.

The official announcement was made after Veer Singh and Pawan Kalyan decided the strategy for seat sharing.

Mr. Kalyan said, “CPI and CPM are in hearts of public and they need these parties to agitate for their rights. This needs to be changed and they will play a significant role in the coming day (sic.)”

The major parties contesting the upcoming Andhra Pradesh Lok Sabha and Assembly elections are the JanaSena Party, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)

The Assembly elections and the Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled on the 11th of April.

The results of the elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
