Amaravathi: The demolition of illegal structures built by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in Tadepalli has unveiled several shocking revelations. Senior officials are investigating how the YSRCP acquired prime land in all 26 district headquarters, worth hundreds of crores, to construct party offices during their tenure in power.
Former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy reportedly transferred two acres of prime land in each district’s heart for YSRCP offices. The estimated market value of this land is between Rs 900 crore and Rs 1,000 crore. Remarkably, the YSRCP did not secure proper permissions for these constructions in any of the 26 districts. The illegally occupied lands, including those from the Irrigation and Endowments departments, as well as assigned and prohibited lands, were allocated to the party without due process.
Each building’s construction cost ranges from Rs 15 crore to Rs 20 crore, featuring opulent interiors and furniture. Experts estimate the total cost of these buildings and infrastructure could exceed Rs 2,000 crore, with each structure resembling a palace, as per Jagan Mohan Reddy’s vision.
Political analysts assert that no other political party in India’s history, including the long-ruling Congress or the current BJP, has constructed such lavish party offices, highlighting the unprecedented extravagance of the YSRCP’s actions.
