Final Test Run For Hyderabad Metro Rail

The last stretch of the Hyderabad Metro is ready for its final trail run before PM Modi inaugurates the Metro later this month. On Monday, the L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited (LTMRHL,) announced that they received approval for energization of the Begumpet, Ameerpet and SR Nagar stretch.

Chief Electrical Inspector of the Central Government, D.V.S. Raju inspected the Overhead Electric Traction System and then gave the sanction for energization.

During the first phase of energization, the 13 Km stretch between Miyapur and Ameerpet and the 17 Km stretch between Ameerpet and Nagole were completed.

MD and CEO of LTMRHL, Shivanand Nimbargi said, “We are moving ahead as per our commitment to complete all statutory requirements by 20th November, making the system ready for commissioning and inauguration.”

The Telangana Government sent an official invitation asking Mr. Modi to inaugurate the Metro on the 28th of November. The Prime Minister will be in Hyderabad for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit during the last week of the month.

The Telangana Municipal Administration Minister K.T. Rama Rao explained, “The inaugural ceremony will take place at Miyapur Metro depot and the PM may take a ride from Miyapur to Ameerpet. The State Government is keen that PM Modi inaugurates the Metro rail project. Not only because the Hyderabad Metro is the biggest Public Private Partnership (PPP) in the world, but also due to the fact that it’s being executed by Larsen & Toubro, an Indian multi national company. The Prime Minister’s Office has not yet given a confirmation on the inauguration date. If it is not possible on November 28, the TRS Government will wait for another date for Modi to come and inaugurate.”
