The 2017 World Food India is a three day long event to celebrate the food and beverage industry. The three days have exhibitions, seminars, special tasting and opportunities to better the industry. The event is organized by the Indian Ministry of Food Processing Industries in New Delhi.
President Ram Nath Kovind will give the Valedictory address on Sunday. The event will also have Mega Food Parks and a Food Street. The Food Street will sell Indian and foreign cuisines made with Indian ingredients and spices curated by Chef Sanjeev Kapoor.
The World Food India event aims at transforming the food economy in India. CEOs of 100 food sector companies will be part of the three day event. 200 global companies will also join the affair with nearly 50 global CEOs from 15 different countries.
On the second day of the event, 800 Kgs of Khichdi was cooked in an attempt to break a World Record. Sanjeev Kapoor supervised the event and Baba Ramdev prepared the Tadka for the dish.
This is the first international event focused on the entire food sector from production to consumption.
