A fire broke out on Tuesday morning around 6 A.M., at a plastic recycling unit in Katedan Industrial Area, Mailardevpally, Hyderabad.
The fire was reported immediately, after which two fire brigades and approximately 12 firefighters rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire in two and a half hours. No one was injured in the fire; however, property and assets worth approximately Rs. 8 lakhs were damaged.
Jagan Mohan, a Station Fire Officer, said, “We are suspecting, the fire mishap happened due to short circuit and all the plastic raw material caught fire. Fortunately no one was present inside the unit, so no casualties have been reported.”
The reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained. An investigation to find out more details regarding the incident is currently underway.
