The Hyderabad Metro Rail is ready to hit the tracks in November. Everyone in the city is super excited to ride the metro train. A 30 KM stretch from Miyapur to Nagole will be open to the public within a few weeks.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi may inaugurate the metro but it is yet to be confirmed. As the authorities conduct the final test runs for the metro, a list of do’s and don’ts have been released. The list is the important things to keep in mind before hopping on a metro train.
Do’s:
1. Do use bins to dispose items and help us keep the Metro rail premises clean.
2. Do listen carefully to all announcements while you are inside the Metro rail premises.
3. Do contact our Customer Service team or our station staff at any Metro station for assistance.
4. Do inform our staff if you see any activity inside the Metro rail premises that can compromise passenger safety or can damage life and property.
5. Do cooperate with our staff during security checks.
6. Do be polite and courteous with our staff and fellow passengers at all times.
7. Do look in front while boarding escalators and climbing stairways.
8. Do always carry your luggage with you inside the Metro rail premises.
9. Do vacate Metro train premises after you have reached your destination.
10. Do hold the handrail, face the moving direction, stand on the left side of the escalator and stay still till you have reached your destination.
11. Do assist the elderly and differently abled passengers, women and children while boarding and off boarding the Metro train.
12. Do use elevators to carry baby buggies and wheel chairs to the platform level.
13. Do move away from the escalator immediately after use.
14. Do form a queue at ticket counters, ticket vending machines, AFC gates and while boarding the Metro train to avoid unnecessary commotion.
15. Do display valid tokens and smart cards for inspection whenever requested by the Metro Rail staff. Ticketless travel is a punishable offense.
16. Do promptly evacuate the Metro Rail premises in case of an emergency announcement.
17. Do allow passengers inside the Metro train to exit before boarding the train.
18. Do mind the gap between the platform and the Metro train while boarding and disembarking the train.
19. Do travel with a valid token or smart card.
Don’t:
1. Do not spit or litter in the Metro rail premises. Chewing tobacco and/or pan is prohibited inside our premises.
2. Do not smoke or drink alcohol inside Metro rail premises.
3. Photography is prohibited inside Metro rail premises.
4. Do not leave your belongings or luggage unattended inside the Metro rail premises.
5. Do not squat inside Metro rail premises or inside the Metro train.
6. Do not consume food and beverages inside the Metro trains.
7. Pets are not allowed inside the Metro rail premises.
8. Hazardous and inflammable items are prohibited inside the Metro rail premises.
9. Do not carry excess luggage on the Metro trains.
10. Do not sit, lean or obstruct escalators.
11. Do not cross the yellow line on the platform area while waiting for the train.
12. Do not try to open the train doors forcefully or lean on them while traveling on the Metro train.
13. Do not rush while boarding or alighting the Metro train
14. Do not let your child wander inside the Metro rail premises. Hold him/her firmly while you are inside the Metro rail premises.
15. Do not get too close to the overhead wires.
16. Carrying firearms without necessary security approval inside the Metro rail premises is strictly prohibited.
17. Do not tread on the tactile path which is meant for the visually impaired.
18. Do not jump over the AFC (automated) gates. Please use a valid token or smart card to pass through the gates.
19. Do not use or attempt to use any emergency communication with the train driver without reasonable and sufficient cause, such a medical emergency or some event that could cause harm to life and property.
20. Hawkers are prohibited in the Metro rail premises.
21. Do not board or alight a Metro train when the automated doors are about to close.
22. Do not use a ticket for more number of journeys on a Metro train than permitted as it will be treated as ticketless travel.
23. Do not put up notices without lawful approval.
24. Defacing Metro rail premises or trains is a punishable offense.
25. Do not tamper any safety device and/or endanger the safety of passengers or obstruct the Metro trains.
26. Do not share your smart card or token with a co passenger.
