On Friday, the Hyderabad Police conducted a cordon and search operation in the residential areas around Taj Falaknuma Palace. The palace hotel in the Old City will be the venue for a dinner for Ivanka Trump and the delegates attending the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES.) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be hosting the dinner for the GES guests on the 28th of November.
The search was conducted from 5:30 A.M., to 8:30 A.M., in Madina Colony, Bibi Ka Chasma and Vatepally. A Senior Official reported a census was conducted in Farooq Nagar, Fatima Nagar, Al Jubail Colony and Jangammet area and collected data from the residents.
The police also instructed the locals to not entertain or give shelter to strangers and to inform officials about any relatives visiting. Deputy Commissioner of Police V. Satyanarayana informed the media during the cordon and search operations that 60 people were taken into custody on suspicion. Another eight people with criminal backgrounds were also apprehended.
With the help of E Finger Prints Recognition Device and the ‘Hydcops’ app, the police verified suspicious people in the area. They seized 51 two wheelers, 3 auto rickshaws and 2 four wheelers from the area to verify the documents.
The operations are being conducted to ensure foolproof security for the Prime Minister, Ivanka Trump and the remaining delegates.
