Hyderabad Traffic Diversions For GES Delegates And HMR Inauguration

Today is an event packed day for Hyderabad with the Global Entrepreneurship Summit starting along with the inauguration of the Metro Rail. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the HMR at around 3:00 P.M.

Multiple schools have been shut in the city to avoid heavy traffic. People from Hyderabad who need to catch flights today need to leave an hour earlier to reach on time.

The police officials said, “As per the rules, domestic air passengers should report two hours before the time of departure and international passengers should report three hours before. To avoid any inconvenience, air passengers should be there three to five hours before their flights.”

The Commissioner of Hyderabad Police at a press release requested citizens to cooperate as many roads would be frequently blocked due to the VVIP movements.

The police explained, “Traffic proceeding from Miyapur towards Kondapur and Kothaguda should take diversion through Chandanagar, Nallagandla flyover, Gulmohar Park Junction, Hyderabad Central University, via Gachibowli.”

Traffic going towards Rajiv Gandhi International Airport from Miyapur will need to take a diversion to Chandanagar, Patancheru and Outer Ring Road to reach RGIA.

A few more diversion will include, “Traffic leaving from Mathrusri Nagar should take diversion via Sheela Park Pride to Manjeera road, while Traffic coming from Patancheru, ICRISAT Beeramguda, RC Puram, Ashok Nagar and BHEL towards Kukatpally, should take diversion via BHEL Rotary, Nallagandla flyover, Gulmohar Park Junction, Hyderabad Central University, Mehidipatnam to Hyderabad,” said the police.

Another diversion will be the traffic coming from Zaheerabad, Narayankhed, Sangareddy towards Kukatpally and Hyderabad will have to go via Muttangi near ORR.

The above diversions will be in force from 3:00 P.M., to 4:30 P.M., for the inauguration of the Hyderabad Metro Rail.

At around 7:00 P.M., the delegates from the GES inauguration will travel to Falaknuma Palace for the dinner from HICC.

The police noted the restrictions for the GES delegates movements, “In view of this, all the commuters going from and towards Kothaguda, Botanical Garden, Gachibowli and ORR are advised to take alternate routes between 6:00 P.M., and 8:00 P.M. Gachibowli flyover will however be kept open throughout. The staff working in (the) IT corridor are advised to make a note of this and make alternative arrangements.”
