Patna: BJP MP Giriraj Singh Booked In Land Grabbing Case

Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP) from Nawada in Bihar, Giriraj Singh along with 32 others were booked in a case of land grabbing. On the direction of the Patna Civil Court, First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged at the Dhanpur Police Station against Singh. Singh is a Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the Modi Cabinet. Singh has been booked for forcibly grabbing over 2 acres of land.

The Leader of the opposition, Tejaswi Yadav said, “Will Bihar Chief Minister (CM) Nitish Kumar or his Deputy in the cabinet Sushil Kumar Modi ask Giriraj Singh to resign from his post. He is the same Giriraj Singh from whose house crores of rupees were seized after he had become Minister in the Narendra Modi cabinet.”

Yadav further questioned, “Would he now break the coalition with the BJP or he would resign from his post on the call of his conscience? Why is Country’s biggest afwah mian (rumour master,) Sushil Modi keeping quiet on the issue of Giriraj Singh?”

Dhanpur Police Station Officer in charge Sandeep Kumar said a case has been lodged against 33 persons including Singh under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST.)
