Warangal: A 20-year-old pregnant woman was stripped assaulted and was left naked on the streets by the relatives of her husband’s first wife in DC Thanda of Wardhannapet on Monday.
The accused blamed the pregnant lady for being responsible of her husband neglecting his first wife, the relatives left her naked on the streets, abused, beat her brutally and even burnt her private parts with a burning piece of wood. Police and locals came to the rescue of the woman Anitha, and admitted her to the local hospital. Police booked cases against nine people including husband Banoth Ravi and his first wife Swaroopa.
Wardhannapet CI, Santhosh said the victim and Ravi a farmer, had a secret wedding in Tirupati in March 2015. Ravi was already married to Ms Swaroopa of the same thanda for five years and they have two children
After coming to know about his second marriage, Swaroopa quarrelled with him.
Since then Ravi had seldom visited her or cared for the children. He used to stay with the second wife in Warangal.
