Free Wi-Fi connections will be accessible crosswise over Sri Lanka by Walk 2016 under an assention the administration marked on Tuesday with multinational innovation organization Google, a media report said.
The service will be given with the guide of Google loon, an innovative technology that provides internet to extensive territories utilizing high-altitude balloons.
The deal was done after an exchange held by State Minister for Defence Ruwan Wijewardene with Chamath Palihapitiya, an effective Silicon Valley business visionary and considered as the wealthiest Sri Lankan on the planet.
Palihapitiya and a few ministers later met President Maithripala Sirisena to present a report on the new innovation.
With the president giving a nod to the project, an agreement was stuck between the state-claimed Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) and Google, which was marked at the PM’s home in Colombo on Tuesday.
