Hyderabad: As many investors turned to Hyderabad, now its Mobile phone company Micromax which opened its manufacturing facility with the capacity to manufacture one million mobile phones per month.
IT minister KT Rama Rao inaugurated the manufacturing unit in Hyderabad. At present the company employs 600 people and will increase the number to 1,000 employees by November 2016. On the occasion, Micromax co-founder Rajesh Agarwal said the company was aiming to be the country’s first and largest indigenous phone manufacturer.
The Telangana manufacturing facility of Bhagawati Products Limited (Micromax) has been made operational from scratch in flat six months and will have the capacity to manufacture one million mobile phone devices per month.
Rama Rao said under the TS-iPASS, the new industrial policy of the state government, 1,691 units were sanctioned which brought an investment of `20,347 crore opening 36,691 job opportunities. Of these, 840 units have already commissioned production.
