On Tuesday, the official websites of Delhi University, IIT Delhi and Aligarh Muslim University were hacked by a group of Pakistani hackers. This according to the group is a response to the hacking of Pakistani Railways Website by an Indian. It was also mentioned on the site that this hacking is “in solidarity with the innocent Kashmiri people being killed by the Indian Army!”
The site has again been taken over by the organizations. This incident came to light at around 3:30 A.M., when students noticed a change to the site. The interface of the website was replaced with a message directed to ‘government and people of India.’ This was accompanied by the music of Pakistani rock band ‘Zeest.’
The message on all three sites read, “Greetings Government of India, and the people of India. Do you know what your so called heroes (soldiers) are doing in Kashmir? Do you know they are killing many innocent people in Kashmir?” This was accompanied by videos of alleged brutalities by the Indian army.
The group called Pakistan Haxors Crew (PHC) wrote, “Stuck by PHC” on the three websites. They also said they did not delete or steal any thing and came to the website to “deliver my message to the government and the people of India.” PHC also added, “This hack is in response to Code-Man’s hack of railways.gov.pk and in the solidarity of innocent Kashmiri People being killed by Indian Army!” PHC also said that Kashmir will become Pakistan.
The DU in a release said, “DU cannot manage one website and they are talking about conducting online examinations this year.” He also said that the organization must strengthen the coding of the website and protect themselves further.
