Vijayawada: Former minister Jogi Ramesh recently made sensational comments, predicting that he could be imprisoned for 2-3 months amid an ongoing land dispute involving his family. The controversy revolves around allegations of buying and selling AgriGold lands seized by the CID. These transactions have been thoroughly investigated, and findings have been submitted to the Andhra Pradesh DGP.
Jogi Ramesh questioned the legality of selling the seized AgriGold lands, insisting that no such sale occurred. He also accused Minister Nara Lokesh of trying to intimidate him by registering an entry in his red book. “This government intends to harass me. I didn’t do anything wrong. They may arrest me for two or three months, but they cannot hide the truth,” Ramesh stated.
Meanwhile, police have intensified their inquiry into a 2021 incident where Ramesh and his followers allegedly attempted to attack the house of then opposition leader and current chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Ramesh has moved an anticipatory bail plea at the AP High Court, with the hearing scheduled for Thursday.
