Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has issued an interim order for the payment of salary to State Information Commissioner (SIC) Chavali Sunil from September, provided he complies with attendance registration as directed by the State Chief Information Commissioner (SCIC). The order was issued on Saturday by Justice V. Sujata, who adjourned the case for three weeks to allow respondents, including the Chief Secretary and General Administration Secretary, to file a counter.

Chavali Sunil had filed a petition requesting the High Court to direct authorities to release his September salary. Representing the AP Information Commission and SCIC, lawyer P. Ravikant clarified that no order was issued to halt Sunil’s salary. He also informed the court that a recent administrative order mandates biometric and manual attendance for all commissioners.

This decision marks a significant interim resolution in the ongoing dispute and emphasizes adherence to new administrative protocols within the AP Information Commission.
