K.T. Rama Rao (KTR,) the Working President of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) dared the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to win a minimum of 3 Lok Sabha seats in the Telangana Lok Sabha elections.
On the 4th of April, KTR held a Party meeting at Telangana Bhavan, Hyderabad, which included all the Indian National Congress (INC) leaders who recently joined the TRS.
During the meeting, KTR said, “The BJP leaders were talking big. The BJP leaders are claiming that they will get 300 seats in the country. They should win at least three seats from Telangana.”
KTR mentioned the situation during the Telangana Assembly elections, when the BJP was defeated badly, winning only 1 seat out of the 119 Assembly seats.
During the Telangana Assembly elections, which were held on the 7th of December, the TRS won a majority of 88 seats, the grand alliance of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the INC won 22 seats and the BJP secured only 1 seat.
KTR also criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his zero contribution towards the development of the citizens of Telangana.
KTR said, when PM Modi addressed public rallies in Telangana, he had nothing to speak about his contribution for the growth and development of the State, instead he spoke about the situation between India and Pakistan and the Hindus and the Muslims. On the other hand, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, appealed to the voters to vote for him based on his performance in the last five years.
KTR added, KCR is a strong pillar of Telangana, who ensured the development of the citizens of Telangana and launched several welfare schemes and projects in this regard.
KTR also said, the TRS will contribute for the welfare of India, if it wins 16 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana.
Telangana will contest for a total of 17 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled to be held on the 11th of April.
The major parties contesting the Lok Sabha elections in Telangana are the TRS, the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
The results of the Telangana Lok Sabha elections will be declared on the 23rd of May 2019.
