New Delhi: MLC Kavitha was released from Tihar Jail on Tuesday night after the Supreme Court granted her bail in the Delhi Liquor Policy case. The two-judge bench of the Supreme Court had earlier granted her bail, and her husband Anil and Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MP Vaviraju Ravichandra submitted surety bonds to the Delhi Rouse Avenue Court. The court accepted the sureties and issued a warrant for her release.

Kavitha’s release was met with an emotional reunion with her family members and party leaders. Former ministers K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) and Harish Rao, along with other BRS leaders, were present at Tihar Jail to welcome her. Her husband Anil and son were also there, with KTR visibly emotional as he embraced Kavitha.

Speaking to the media after her release, Kavitha expressed her distress at having been in jail for five and a half months, away from her children. She stated, “I am KCR’s child… I have no intention of doing anything wrong. I am stubborn… I am good. I have been sent to jail unnecessarily.” Kavitha further asserted that she would continue her legal fight and work more committedly on the ground level, vowing to seek justice for the troubles caused to her and her family.

Kavitha is expected to arrive in Hyderabad at 2:45 PM on Wednesday.
