Vijayawada: Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kalyan has voiced strong criticism against the remarks made by YCP leaders regarding the alleged defilement of the revered Tirumala Laddu Prasad. He labeled their statements as “irresponsible” and accused them of pressuring the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board, appointed by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, despite lab reports confirming discrepancies. Kalyan stressed the need for accountability and corrective measures rather than mockery or denial in the face of mistakes.
Participating in ‘Alaya Sudhi’ (temple cleaning) at the Kanaka Durga Temple on Tuesday, Kalyan urged Hindus to unite in the defense of Sanatana Dharma, warning that remaining silent in the face of violations could jeopardize future generations. The event involved the symbolic washing and purification of the temple steps, with Kalyan actively engaging in the rituals.
In a media interaction, Kalyan highlighted the importance of respecting all religions in India but criticized the casual approach taken by YCP leaders towards sensitive Hindu matters. He questioned the double standards in secularism, noting that reactions would differ significantly if similar issues arose in other religious contexts. Kalyan called upon Hindus to assert their rights and beliefs.
