Amaravati: In response to the ongoing heavy rains impacting the state, the Home and Disaster Management Department has issued a statewide alert. Home Minister Vangalapudi Anita has conducted telephone consultations with district Collectors to review the situation and has directed special forces to initiate relief operations in flood-affected areas. The minister emphasized the need to prevent loss of life and property, expressing sorrow over the recent landslides in Vijayawada that resulted in four fatalities.

Minister Kollu Ravindra Reviews Flood Situation

Minister Kollu Ravindra has called for heightened vigilance as heavy rains continue to affect the region. He held a teleconference with Collectors from Krishna and NTR districts to address concerns related to waterlogging in Vijayawada and other areas. Immediate measures have been instructed to address water stagnation issues, and irrigation officials have been tasked with clearing obstructions in canals. Additionally, there is a focus on ensuring the safety of manholes and electric poles.

All public representatives and officials are urged to remain accessible to the public and work in coordination to manage the effects of the rain until conditions improve. The emphasis is on proactive measures to mitigate the impact and ensure community safety.
