The All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) announced to reconstruct a mosque that was demolished by the municipal authorities at Shamshabad on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

Notably, on the 5th of August, Friday, a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of the AIMIM Mr. Kausar Mohiuddin said, on the representation of AIMIM President and Hyderabad Member of Parliament (MP) Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi, the Telangana Government has allowed reconstruction of the mosque.  The mosque named “Masjid e Khaja” near Green Avenue Colony was demolished.  The Rangareddy Municipal Corporation demolished the mosque on the 2nd of August acting upon the complaint of a resident, who said the mosque, which was constructed three years ago was without approval.

It is to be noted, that the demolition of the mosque triggered strong protests by local Muslims, including the AIMIM leaders.  Taking a serious note of the demolition, Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi, the President of the AIMIM made a representation to the K. Chandrashekar Rao-led TRS Government for the construction of the mosque.

After the claimed approval from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government, the AIMIM assured to reconstruct of the mosque, at the same site.  The announcement came after the Friday prayers offered at the same site, where the mosque was before being demolished.

The Municipal Administration department had formed a three-member committee, which visited the municipal office and the place where the mosque was demolished. It was made clear after the panel’s visit that the Government would not create hurdles in the reconstruction of the mosque.
