Mr. Gulab Chand Kataria, the former Home Minister of Rajasthan, sworn in as the 31st Governor of Assam.
On February 22, the 78 year old Gulab Chand Kataria, a resident of Jaipur, Rajasthan took the oath of the office as the Governor of Assam, at an event held at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati, Assam.
According to sources, Mr. Gulab Chand Kataria succeeded Professor Jagdish Mukhi, whose term as the Assam Governor ended on the 19th of February.
It is to be noted, Mr. Gulab Chand Kataria, arrived at Guwahati, Assam with his wife and family on the morning of the 22nd of February, Wednesday. He was welcomed by the Cabinet ministers and leaders of the Assam Government.
Later, at a grand event, Mr. Gulab Chand Kataria took the oath and became the 31st Governor of Assam.
The President of India Ms. Draupadi Murmu approved Governor Gulab Chand Kataria’s appointment, after the term of Jagdish Mukhi ended.
