Arvind Kejriwal Meets PM Modi, Discusses Delhi Riots And Coronavirus

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the 3rd of March.

The meeting was the first  between the two leaders after Arvind Kejriwal took charge as the Chief Minister of Delhi.

This meeting was scheduled to be held at the Prime Minister’s office in the Parliament around 11:00 A.M. 

During the meeting, Arvind Kejriwal discussed the Delhi riots and damages occurred due to the violence.  Besides discussing briefly about the Delhi riots, Mr. Kejriwal also discussed the Novel Coronavirus.

After concluding the meeting Arvind Kejriwal addressed the media and said, “I told him (PM Modi) that we should try and ensure that such riots do not happen again in the national capital. Those who are responsible for the clashes – whether they belong to any party – should not be spared, I appealed to the Prime Minister.”

The riots and violence which broke out in Northeast Delhi started on the evening of the 24th of February.

Speaking about the spread of Coronavirus, the Delhi CM said, “Also, we discussed the spread of Coronavirus. One case has been reported in Delhi, another in Telangana. It’s a lethal disease spreading across the world.”

On the 2nd of March, the Union Health Ministry, released an official statement, confirming two individuals who have been infected with the Novel Coronavirus .   While one person is in Hyderabad, Telangana, another one is from Delhi.

Arvind Kejriwal concluded the meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a demand of strict action against the one behind the communal riots in Delhi.
