Midday meals have always been under scrutiny for their deteriorating quality. This repeated again after a baby snake was found in a midday meal at a government school in Faridabad, Haryana. This incident came to light after what is also known as a ‘snakelet’ was found in food that was served at the Rajkeeya Girls Senior Secondary School.
The children were immediately stopped from eating food after the snakelet was found. But things went wrong as it was noted that some of the students had already consumed the food partly. Students started vomiting as soon as they consumed the meal.
The principal and other teachers were tasting the food when they found the snakelet. They immediately intimated to the students to stop eating the food. The kids were shocked upon the discovery of a snake in their food. Students said that they often could smell stale food and did not think much of it. But the reptile had terrified the students of the school.
The school’s principal, Brij Bala immediately informed the higher officials and also Iskcon food relief foundation that has been providers of the midday meal. All other schools that received the food from the same organization were intimated about the same.
