Bengaluru: Police arrest 5 people in Tanzanian Student Attack Case

Bengaluru: A day after a Tanzanian woman, a student of Acharya College in Soladevanahalli, filed a complaint, the police of Bengaluru arrested five people in connection with the case. The student filed a complaint accusing that a mob of stripping her and forcing her to walk without her top on the street.

The incident took place when a car hit a 35-year-old local resident. The victim died and her husband sustained injuries. According to the complaint, a mob gathered and set fire on the car. At first, the Tanzanian student didn’t made allegations of being stripped by the mob in her complaint on Sunday but said it on Wednesday.

Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah called the incident shocking and said a report has been sent to the foreign ministry. Sushma Swaraj, External Affairs Minister, also said that she was ‘deeply pained’ over the incident and asked the government of Karnataka to take severe action against the guilty.
