The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the 22nd of October, released its manifesto for the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections 2020.

The major highlight of the BJP manifesto is to give the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 vaccine to each and every citizen of the State.

The manifesto read, “In the fight against coronavirus, the NDA government has set an example in the country. It is our resolution that as soon as the vaccine will be approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), every person in the State will be vaccinated.”

Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister and the BJP leader released the BJP manifesto for the Bihar Elections.

Ms. Sitharaman said, “As soon as COVID-19 vaccine will be available for production at a mass scale every person in Bihar will get free vaccination. This is the first promise mentioned in our poll manifesto.” She further added, “They know and understand the promises a party makes. If anyone raises questions on our manifesto, we can answer them with confidence as we fulfill what we promised.”

Speaking about the good governance of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA,) Ms. Sitharaman said the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Bihar increased from 3 % to 11.3 % in the last 15 years of the NDA Government.

Ms. Sitharaman said, “It was made possible because our government gave priority to good governance for people. Only 34 % eligible got pucca house in Lala Yadav’s 15 years tenure.

But in the last 15 years, 96 % of eligible people got the pucca house.”

During the manifesto release event, Ms. Sitaraman appealed the voters to vote for the NDA candidates in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

Ms. Sitaraman said, “Nitish Kumar will be the Chief Minister of Bihar for the next 5 years. Under his rule, Bihar will become a progressive and developed state of India.”

Nirmala Sithraman, Bhupender Yadav, Nityanand Rai, Ashwini Choubey, and Pramod Kumar, Ravi Shankar Prasad and other BJP leaders were present at the manifesto release event.

The manifesto of the BJP was released a day ahead of the campaign rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The BJP is contesting the Bihar election in alliance with Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United.) JD(U.)

While the JD(U) is contesting on 122 seats, the BJP is contesting for 121 seats of the total 243 member state Assembly.

Meanwhile, in the opposition, the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ – an alliance of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), the Indian National Congress (INC) and Left parties has already released its manifesto.

The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) led by Chirag Paswan released its manifesto on the 21st of October.

The major parties contesting the three phased Bihar Assembly Elections are the NDA, the Mahagathbandhan and the LJP.

The three phased Bihar Assembly Elections are scheduled to begin from the 28th of October and would continue till the 7th of November.

While the first and the second phase would be conducted on the 28th of October and the 3rd of November, the third phase would be held on the 7th of November.

The results of the Bihar Assembly Elections would be announced on the 10th of November.
