Ms. Sonali Phogat, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and actress, died in Goa, confirmed the Goa Police on the 23rd of August.
The 42 year old Bigg Boss 14, a reality show, fame suffered a heart attack on the morning of the 23rd of August. Mr. Jasal Singh, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Goa, confirmed Ms. Sonali Phogat’s demise.
Sonali Phogat, who hailed from Haryana, contested the last assembly election from Haryana from the Adampur constituency on a BJP ticket against Kuldeep Bishnoi. In addition, she also appeared in the reality show Bigg Boss in 2020.
Famous for her TikTok videos and reels, hours before her last breath, Ms. Sonali Phogat shared some videos and photos on her social media platform, which is now widely being shared by netizens, expressing condolences.
Highlighting about the acting career of Ms. Sonali Phogat, in 2016, she made her acting debut with the TV show Amma: Ek Maa Jo Laakhon Ke Liye Bani Amma. She was also a part of the web series, The Story Of Badmashgarh in 2019. In the year 2020, Ms. Sonali Phogat made headlines for thrashing a Market Committee Official in Hisar.
Upon hearing the demise of Ms. Sonali Phogat, Mr. Om Prakash Dhankar, the BJP State President in Haryana, said, “I have learnt about the sad demise of Sonali Phogat. It is really sad news”.
Captain Bhupender, the BJP President of the Hisar district, said “She was with some of her associates in Goa. We heard about an hour ago that she suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away in the wee hours. Certain formalities are being completed there at Goa, after which her body shall be brought to Haryana.”
Notably, the last rights of Ms. Sonali Phogat would be held in Haryana.
