Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made a significant stride in its electoral preparations for the upcoming Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections by unveiling its list of 10 assembly candidates on Wednesday.

Former Union Minister Y. S. Chowdary, BJP state Vice President P. Vishnu Kumar Raju, and former state minister Kamineni Srinivas are among the prominent figures featured on the list. Sujana Chowdary, popularly known as Y. S. Chowdary, will be vying for the Vijayawada West constituency. Notably, Chowdary had previously served as the Union Minister of State for Science and Technology between 2014 and 2018 before switching allegiance from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to the BJP in 2019.

Vishnu Kumar Raju, who had previously represented Visakhapatnam North in 2014, has been nominated as the candidate for the same constituency once again. However, his performance in the 2019 elections saw him securing a disappointing fourth place. Kamineni Srinivas, who held the portfolio of Health Minister in the TDP-led coalition government from 2014 to 2018, will be contesting from Kaikalur.

The roster of candidates announced by the BJP also includes N. Eswara Rao for Etcherla, Pangi Rajarao for Araku Valley (ST), Bojja Roshanna for Badvel (SC), C. Adinarayana Reddy for Jammalamadugu, P. V. Parthasarathi for Adoni, and Y. Satya Kumar for Dharmavaram.
