Chennai: The alleged killer of Infosys employee Swathi was arrested in Sengottai village near Tirunelvalei on Friday. The accused Ram Kumar, graduate in mechanical engineering shifted to Chennai about three months ago for a job and was staying close by to Swathi’s house in Choolaimedu.

A senior police officer claimed that the accused has been hospitalised after he made a suicide attempt before the cops could arrest him. The 24-year-old is currently admitted in General Hospital, Tirunelveli. The news of his arrest was released late on Friday night. Police added that his one-sided love of Swathi and her rejection had forced him to kill her.
“His father is a daily wage labourer. After completing his mechanical engineering, he shifted to Chennai three months ago. He was working with a textile shop for a brief period while searching for a better job in Chennai. He had been stalking Swathi for past several weeks,” said a senior officer.
